Projecta IS3000 Intelli-Start Lithium Jump Starter
12V / 24V Lithium Jump Starter

Overview

The Projecta IS3000 Intelli-Start Lithium Jump Starter is designed to jump start compatible 12V and 24V petrol and diesel vehicles fitted with automotive batteries.

The IS3000 uses Lithium Iron Phosphate, LiFePO4, battery technology for improved safety, reliability and long service life.

Always confirm the vehicle battery voltage, engine size and product limits in the user manual before use.

Vehicle Compatibility

What vehicles can the IS3000 jump start?

The IS3000 can be used on compatible:

12V petrol vehicles
12V diesel vehicles
24V petrol vehicles
24V diesel vehicles

The vehicle must be within the rated capacity of the IS3000.

Can I use the IS3000 on household or dry-cell batteries?

No.
The IS3000 is designed for automotive batteries only.

Do not use the unit on household batteries, dry-cell batteries, or non-automotive battery applications. Incorrect use may cause battery rupture, personal injury, or damage to the jump starter.

Charging the IS3000

How do I check the battery charge level?

Press the Power Button on the unit.

The LCD screen will display the battery status:

Green — Fully charged
Yellow — Partially charged
Red / Low Battery — Recharge immediately

How long does the IS3000 take to fully charge?

Using the supplied charging dock and AC adapter, a full charge may take up to 12 hours depending on the remaining battery level.

The display will show “Charging Complete” once charging has finished.

Why does charging appear slow?

The IS3000 uses a controlled cell-balanced charging system. This helps protect the internal LiFePO4 battery, extend battery life, and prevent overheating.

Slower charging is normal and is part of the battery protection system.

Rapid Recharge Technology, RRT

What is Rapid Recharge Technology?

Rapid Recharge Technology allows the IS3000 to recharge from the vehicle alternator after a successful jump start.

How does RRT work?

  1. Start the vehicle.
  2. Leave the clamps connected for at least 40 seconds.
  3. The IS3000 begins recharging from the vehicle alternator.
  4. RRT automatically stops once the unit is charged back to its original state of charge.

This helps restore the internal battery without overcharging.

Troubleshooting Charging Issues

The IS3000 will not charge. What should I check?

Check the following:

Ensure you are using the correct charging dock and AC adapter supplied with the unit.
Confirm the AC adapter is securely connected to the wall outlet and charging dock.
Inspect the charging contacts and port for dirt, corrosion, or damage.
Try a different power outlet.
If the battery is deeply discharged, leave the unit connected to the charger for at least 30 minutes.

The IS3000 charges but does not reach full charge. Why?

Possible causes include:

Charging outside the permitted temperature range of 0°C to 45°C.
Charging was interrupted before completion.
Battery capacity has reduced after long-term use.

Allow the unit to complete a full uninterrupted charge cycle of up to 12 hours.

The IS3000 loses charge quickly or will not hold charge. Why?

Possible causes include:

The unit was stored while fully discharged.
The unit was stored in high temperature conditions.
The battery has naturally degraded after long-term use.
Accessories such as USB ports or work lights were left on.

Recharge the IS3000 every 3 to 6 months, even when it is not being used regularly.

Jump Starting a Vehicle

My vehicle did not start. What should I check?

Before attempting another start, check the following:

The clamps are securely connected.
The battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion.
The IS3000 is adequately charged.
The vehicle electrical system is 12V or 24V.
The vehicle is within the rated engine capacity of the IS3000.

Cold temperatures may reduce jump starting performance.

A maximum of three attempts per session is recommended.

Allow 2 to 3 minutes between attempts to protect the unit.

Exceeding this limit may damage the jump starter and may void warranty.

Error Messages and Warnings

Low Battery

The internal battery level is too low to perform a jump start.

Recharge the IS3000 before use.

Reverse Polarity Warning

This warning indicates the clamps are connected incorrectly.

Reconnect the clamps as follows:

Red clamp — Positive + terminal
Black clamp — Negative – terminal or suitable engine earth

The IS3000 includes reverse polarity protection and audible warning alerts.

Overvoltage Warning

This warning appears if the vehicle battery voltage exceeds 30V.

Disconnect the clamps immediately and have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic or auto electrician.

Override Mode

When should Override Mode be used?

Override Mode may be required when the vehicle battery voltage is between 0V and 1V.

In this mode, the user must manually select 12V or 24V output.

Important Safety Notice

Use extreme caution when using Override Mode.

In Override Mode, the following protections are disabled:

Reverse polarity protection
Short-circuit protection

Only use Override Mode if you are confident the clamps are connected correctly and the correct voltage has been selected.

Operating Temperature Range

Jump Starting: -20°C to 60°C
Charging: 0°C to 45°C
Storage: -10°C to 45°C

Performance may be reduced in very cold conditions.

The IS3000 includes automatic temperature protection systems that prevent operation outside safe limits.

Storage Guidelines

To maintain battery health:

Store the unit between -10°C and 45°C.
Keep the unit dry and away from moisture.
Recharge the unit every 3 to 6 months.
Ensure all accessories are turned off before storage.

The clamps may become warm during use due to high current flow. This is normal. Wearing insulated gloves is recommended.
