Overview

The Projecta Intelli-GRID 48V system is a high-powered power management system designed for RV, caravan and off-grid applications.

The system combines a 48V lithium battery, inverter/charger, DC-DC charging, solar charging, AC transfer, Bluetooth monitoring, load control, water tank monitoring and optional sensor inputs.

The system is designed to manage power, lighting, water and sensor information through a colour touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity.

Safety Warnings

What safety precautions should be followed?

The Intelli-GRID 48V system contains high voltage components and lithium battery technology.

Always follow these precautions:

Do not open or service internal components unless qualified.
Do not use the system to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Only use compatible 48V lithium batteries between 35Ah and 700Ah.
Ensure batteries are installed in a well-ventilated area.
Keep children away from the system and accessories.
Do not expose components to water unless the part is rated for that environment.
Do not continue using the system if there is smoke, burning smell, abnormal heat, damage or repeated faults.
240V AC wiring must be performed by a qualified electrician.

The system uses the Projecta LB105-48HDC 48V high discharge lithium battery.

Can additional 48V batteries be used?

The system is designed for compatible 48V lithium batteries. The manual states the system can only charge 48V lithium batteries from 35Ah to 700Ah.

Always confirm battery compatibility before installation.


Inverter / Charger Operation

What does the INVCHR4-48V do?

The INVCHR4-48V is an all-in-one inverter/charger that provides:

4000W inverter output
AC mains charging
AC transfer switching
DC-DC charging from vehicle alternator
MPPT solar charging
48V battery management integration

What is the inverter output rating?

The inverter provides:

Continuous output: 4.0kVA / 4.0kW

What is the AC charging current?

The AC charger can provide up to 70A charging current.

What is the solar charging capacity?

The MPPT solar charger supports:

PV input voltage range: 18V to 60V
Maximum PV short circuit current: 60A
Maximum charge from PV panels: 1800W
Maximum charging current: 30A

What is the DC-DC charging capacity?

The DC-DC charger provides up to 1500W from a 12V vehicle input.

The default vehicle charge current is set at 65A. The manual recommends using suitable cabling to support this current for normal run length in a caravan system.


7" Bluetooth Monitor

What does the 7" monitor display?

The 7" colour monitor displays and controls:

Battery state of charge
Battery charging and discharging status
Solar charging information
Vehicle charging information
Inverter/charger status
AC input source
Water tank levels
Load control
Light control
Pump control
Sensor information
Alarms and warnings
Bluetooth connection status
System settings

What does the Bluetooth icon mean?

A blue Bluetooth icon indicates that the mobile app is connected to the system.

Can the monitor control loads?

Yes.
The monitor can control switchable outputs such as lights, pump, water heater, 12V outputs and spare outputs, depending on the installation configuration.


Home Screen Functions

What information is shown on the home screen?

The home screen displays:

Time and date
Indoor and outdoor temperature
Bluetooth connection status
Battery state of charge
Battery charging or discharging state
Solar input power
Vehicle charger input
Inverter/charger status
Water tank levels
Shortcut keys for power, hot water and pump
Alarm status

What does the battery display show?

The battery display can show:

Whether the battery is charging or discharging
Battery voltage and current
Battery state of charge
Time remaining to full or empty
Vehicle charger power
Solar charger power
Inverter/charger power


Load Control

What does the Load Control page do?

The Load Control page allows the user to turn configured outputs ON or OFF.

When a load is ON, the icon turns white and a green dot appears.
When a load is OFF, the icon turns grey and the green dot disappears.

Each load channel can also display real-time power consumption and current.

What does a red dot on a load mean?

A red dot indicates a load fault, such as:

Overcurrent
Short circuit
Wiring fault
Load fault

Check the load and wiring before restarting the output.


Light Control

Can lighting be controlled from the screen?

Yes.
The Light Load page allows configured lighting circuits to be turned ON or OFF.

The system also displays real-time current and power consumption for each lighting channel.

Are light settings retained?

Yes.
Lighting circuits are memory retentive. If PWR is switched OFF to conserve power, the same lighting selection can return when PWR is switched ON again.


Sensor Functions

What sensors can the system support?

The system can support:

Water tank level probes
Levelling sensor
Tyre pressure monitoring system
Gas bottle level sensors
Temperature sensors

What does the levelling sensor do?

The levelling sensor helps show whether the RV is level when parked.

Calibration should be performed with the RV level from front to back and side to side.

What does the TPMS module do?

The TPMS module monitors tyre pressure before and during travel.

It can provide high and low pressure warning information, depending on the sensor setup.

What do the gas sensors show?

The gas sensor page shows the gas level available in compatible gas cylinders.


Settings Menu

What can be changed in the settings menu?

The settings menu allows changes to:

Screen brightness
Time and date
Sleep time
Buzzer setting
Temperature unit
Load names
Water tank names
Icons
Solar automatic wake-up function
Firmware information
Bluetooth name and password
Sensor settings
RV model type

Can load names be changed?

Yes.
Loads and water tanks can be renamed from the settings menu.

The load icon can also be changed when renaming the load.


Bluetooth Settings

Can the Bluetooth name and password be changed?

Yes.
The display screen Bluetooth name and Bluetooth pairing password can be set from the Bluetooth settings page.

This is used for Intelli-GRID mobile app connection.

What should I check if Bluetooth will not connect?

Check the following:

Bluetooth is enabled on the phone or tablet.
The correct Intelli-GRID Bluetooth name is selected.
The correct pairing password is entered.
Only one device is actively connected at a time.
The display is powered and operating normally.
The mobile device is within range.


Firmware Update

How is firmware updated?

Firmware updates are performed using a USB drive inserted into the back of the display.

After inserting the USB drive, an update firmware pop-up should appear automatically.

The update page includes:

Upgrade — used to select and update firmware for each module.
Import — used to select and update customised logos.

Only approved firmware files should be used.

Solar LED

Off — No solar input
Slow flashing green — Solar input detected but MPPT not working
Green ON — MPPT charger is working

AC Input LED

Off — No AC input
Slow flashing green — AC input detected but not charging or bypassing shore supply
Fast flashing green — AC charger is working
Green ON — Bypass power supply is working

DC-DC LED

Off — Alternator input not working
Slow flashing green — Alternator input detected but DC-DC not working
Fast flashing green — 48V battery is charging from the starter battery or powering loads
Green ON — 12V alternator is charging the 48V battery

Inverter LED

Off — 48V battery not detected
Slow flashing green — 48V battery connected
Fast flashing green — Inverter power assist function working
Green ON — Inverter is working

Alarm LED

Off — No alarm
Fast flashing yellow — Alarm condition present

Fault LED

Off — No fault
Fast flashing red — Fault condition present


Generator Auto Start / Stop

Can the system control a generator?

Yes.
The Intelli-GRID system can manage a generator using a two-wire dry contact system.

When the relay closes, the generator turns ON.
When the relay opens, the generator stops.

The generator must be compatible with two-wire start operation.

How is generator mode set?

Generator mode is accessed from the home screen by pressing the generator button.

The user can select generator mode and configure start and stop conditions based on battery state of charge.


Common Troubleshooting

The system will not turn on. What should I check?

Check the following:

The remote battery switch is connected.
The battery switch polarity is correct.
The LB105-48HDC battery is connected correctly.
Battery communication cables are connected.
The inverter and master control module are connected correctly.
The master control module has 12V supply.
All main fuses are fitted and not blown.
The battery has sufficient charge.

If the system still does not turn on, stop troubleshooting and contact support.


The display does not turn on. What should I check?

Check the following:

Display cable is connected to the IGCMD18 master control module.
The display has power supply from the system.
The master control module is powered.
The display cable is not damaged.
The system battery switch is ON.


The inverter is not working. What should I check?

Check the following:

48V battery is connected and switched ON.
Battery SOC is sufficient.
Inverter LED status is checked.
Fault LED is not flashing red.
AC loads do not exceed inverter rating.
AC wiring has been installed by a qualified electrician.
Battery communication cable is connected.

If the inverter fault remains, disconnect non-essential loads and contact support.


AC appliances are not running. What should I check?

Check the following:

The inverter is switched ON from the display.
The appliance load is within the inverter rating.
The battery has sufficient charge.
The system is not in ECO mode.
The AC output circuit is not tripped.
There is no active alarm or fault.


Solar charging is not working. What should I check?

Check the following:

Solar panels are connected correctly.
PV positive and negative are not reversed.
Solar input voltage is within range.
Solar panel open circuit voltage does not exceed the charger limit.
Solar LED status is checked.
The panels are receiving sunlight.
Solar isolators and fuses are ON and not blown.


Vehicle charging is not working. What should I check?

Check the following:

Vehicle engine is running.
Alternator input wiring is connected correctly.
The DC-DC LED status is checked.
Input fuses are fitted and not blown.
Vehicle battery voltage is suitable.
The system is wired according to the installation guide.
Cable size is suitable for the current and length of the installation.


The battery is not charging from AC mains. What should I check?

Check the following:

AC mains input is connected.
AC input LED status is checked.
The AC charger is enabled.
Battery SOC is below the charge stop setting.
AC input protection has not tripped.
No alarm or fault is active.


A load channel has turned red. What does this mean?

A red indicator on a load channel means the channel has detected a fault.

Possible causes include:

Overcurrent
Short circuit
Faulty appliance
Incorrect wiring
Damaged cable
Excessive load on the channel

Turn the load OFF, inspect the circuit and wiring, and only restart after the issue has been corrected.


The water tank reading looks incorrect. What should I check?

Check the following:

Correct probe length is installed for the tank.
Probe wiring is connected correctly to the IGCMD18.
Tank type and name are configured correctly in the display.
Sensor settings have not been changed incorrectly.
Probe is clean and installed at the correct depth.


The levelling sensor is not accurate. What should I do?

Recalibrate the levelling sensor.

Before calibration:

Park the RV on level ground.
Ensure the RV is level front to back and side to side.
Go to the sensor settings page.
Select level sensor calibration.
Press calibrate.


TPMS is not showing tyre pressure. What should I check?

Check the following:

TPMS module is connected to the system.
Sensors are paired correctly.
Sensor batteries are not flat.
The correct RV model layout is selected.
The tyre sensors are fitted to the correct wheels.
The display is receiving sensor data.


Gas sensor is not pairing. What should I check?

Check the following:

Compatible Bluetooth gas gauge is being used.
Gas feature is enabled in settings.
Sensor pairing is started from the Gas Sensor page.
The SYNC button on the gas sensor is pressed long enough.
The sensor is within Bluetooth range.
The second gas sensor is paired separately if fitted.


Installation Notes

Who should install the Intelli-GRID 48V system?

Installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified installer.

Any 240V AC wiring must be completed by a licensed electrician.

What are the key installation checks?

Before powering the system, check:

Battery cables are connected with correct polarity.
Inverter battery cables are connected correctly.
Battery communication cable is connected.
Master control module cables are connected correctly.
Remote battery switch is connected.
Display cable is connected.
Water tank, level, TPMS and optional sensors are connected correctly.
All required fuses are installed.
AC input and output wiring has been completed safely.


Storage and Maintenance

To maintain the system:

Keep components clean and dry.
Inspect wiring and connections regularly.
Check for signs of heat, corrosion or loose terminals.
Keep firmware updated using approved files only.
Do not store the battery fully discharged.
Recharge the system periodically if the RV is not being used.
Check sensor batteries where applicable.


Warranty Information

The Intelli-GRID 48V system is covered by the warranty terms stated in the instruction manual.

The manual lists a 5-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, incorrect installation, incorrect operation, modification, water ingress where not permitted, or failure to follow the product instructions.
